Decentralized exchanges, or DEXs, operate differently than their centralized counterparts. Rather than a single company in charge of operations, they are usually governed by automated processes, code, and community contributions.

Plugging into and using a DEX for the first time can be quite confusing. We recommend using the ‘token swap’ feature in browser wallets such as MetaMask to simplify the process!

Uniswap 🦄

The OMI token is currently available on one DEX- Uniswap- and is listed against ETH (OMI/wETH). You can also access and verify the OMI/ETH pool here or connect to the Uniswap app to swap some ETH into OMI tokens.

There are two ways to access the DEX.

  1. Connect your wallet to the Uniswap app and select the OMI token from the drop-down menu. Once connected, you can swap ETH and other ERC20 tokens for OMI.

or,

  1. Use the ‘swap’ option in popular browser wallets such as MetaMask or the Coinbase wallet to swap ETH and other ERC20 tokens into OMI directly from that wallet interface. This uses the Uniswap pool in the background; however, you will not need to learn how to use it directly.
